Since at times we find information online and somehow "disappear" Here is the content of the above post: "
Western leaders have long justified their wars of aggression in the Middle East in the name of protecting vulnerable Christian & other minority communities.
Yet, without fail, foreign intervention has been the driving force behind the displacement & depopulation of Christians across the region.
Today, Christian Armenians in Iran – alongside their Iranian neighbors – face an existential threat at the hands of U.S.-Israeli warmongers.
This is nothing new. For centuries, Armenians thrived across the Middle East – but over the last few decades, U.S.-Israeli interventions & regional destabilization have decimated our communities.
Between Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, and Palestine – close to a million Armenians once lived in the Levant.
Lebanon was home to 200,000+ Armenians before civil war & Israeli invasions led to mass depopulation. Today, less than half remain.
Syria was also home to 200,000+ Armenians before the Syrian Civil War. Since U.S.-backed al-Qaeda militants took over, it's estimated fewer than 20,000 remain.
During the Nakba, tens of thousands of Armenians in Jerusalem & Palestine were forcibly displaced. To this day, the Israeli government & settler extremists threaten the existence of Jerusalem's Armenian Quarter – the oldest continuous Christian presence in the city.
Iraq was home to 30,000+ Armenians before the 2003 U.S. invasion. Today, barely 5-10,000 remain.
Only in Iran do our communities continue to thrive. While tens of thousands fled following the 1979 revolution – particularly during the Iran-Iraq War (1980-1988) – Armenians have always been a protected community.
Today, the illegal U.S.-Israeli war of aggression against Iran threatens the livelihood of Iran's largest Christian population – and the largest remaining Armenian community in the Middle East.
Time and time again, the West has waged war in the name of protecting the vulnerable. And without fail, it is always the most vulnerable who suffer the most.
