US seizes $1.6 million ‘Epic of Gilgamesh’ tablet from Hobby Lobby By Will Feuer July 28, 2021

US seizes $1.6 million ‘Epic of Gilgamesh’ tablet from Hobby Lobby By Will Feuer July 28, 2021 Hobby Lobby purchased it at an auction hosted by Christie’s for $1.6 million. Representatives for Christie’s did not return The Post’s request for comment. Hobby Lobby purchased the tablet to be displayed at the Washington, DC-based Museum of the Bible, which is funded by the family of the arts and crafts chain’s founder, David Green. In a complaint filed in May 2020, prosecutors said the 5-by-6-inch tablet is the property of the Iraqi government and should be returned. Hobby Lobby cooperated with the investigation, the DOJ said.   NOTE: the big question is WHY they allowed Christie's POCKET the $1.6 million? hmmmm..... interesting Hobby Lobby should be refunded. What's your thought about this situation?

Pennsylvania flooding

Updated Oct 29, 2021 PHILADELPHIA, PA — The powerful storm that is approaching the Philadelphia area entering Halloween weekend could bring near-record floods to some areas, forecasters note, with water levels already elevated from bouts of heavy rain earlier this week. The risk is especially high in tidal waterways that will swell at high tide, with the Delaware River predicted to rise to historic heights in the aftermath of the storm. At Washington Street in Philadelphia, where the river was already flooded to about 8 feet Friday morning, a crest of 10.3 feet — considered "major flood stage" — is expected by Friday evening. The all-time record, from Superstorm Sandy in 2012, is 10.6 feet. source: https://patch.com/pennsylvania/haverford/s/hwbdk/historic-flooding-possible-as-storm-approaches-eastern-pa?utm_source=alert-breakingnews&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=alert   =================== PENNSYLVANIA —Afternoon thunderstorms led to significant flash fl

USA Independence Day facts

Interesting facts about the Independence day Independence Day should have been celebrated on July 2, 1776. Although the document was dated July 4, congress actually voted for independence from Great Britain two days prior on July 2, 1776. It apparently wasn’t signed by everyone until August 2, 1776.   It didn't become a federal holiday until 1870. It took nearly 100 years for it to be recognized as such, but when it finally happened it was up in the ranks with Christmas and a few other holidays.   Benjamin Franklin proposed the turkey as the national bird but he was overruled by John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, who recommended the bald eagle as it symbolizes freedom.   An estimated 2.5 million people lived in the nation in July 1776 . As of July 2017, about 325.7 million people live in the U.S., according to the United States Census.   The Liberty Bell rings 13 times every Independence Day to honor the 13 original states .Descendants of people who signed the Declaration
