Thinking humanity should always cherish a feeling of involuntary respect for ancient Asia. The glorious, beautiful image of Masis, our historical Mount Ararat, inscribed in the tradition, should always rise before our souls. The ancient belief in miracles has certainly faded, and on its sparkling white summit, no one is anymore searching for the blackened wreckage of the ark in which our ancestor supposedly found refuge. Symbols are now useless, because the knowledge of naturalists, ethnologists, and historiographers tells us how important the country of Armenia is for anyone who studies flora and fauna and the migration of peoples.
