Clean cut, new money area in northern Delaware. Neighborhoods in hockessin fall into several tiers. Top tier communities: Ramsey Ridge, Westridge, Hockessin Chase, Sanford Ridge, Autumn Wood. Middle Tier: Westwoods, Vallebrook, Stenning Woods, Piersons Ridge. Lower Tier: Mendenhall Village, Wellington Hills, South Wood.

I have lived in Hockessin, DE my whole life, and I could never picture myself living anywhere else. I love all the restaurants, neighborhoods, schools, parks, etc. Hockessin Athletic Club is definitely my favorite facility in Hockessin. The gym is equipped with top of the line equipment, and all of the employees are super helpful and friendly. Although I love Hockessin, one thing I would change would be to establish more small businesses, creating a walkable, village feel. Reducing transportation would decrease pollution rates, making the air cleaner, as well as decrease obesity rates, allowing residents more exercise.

I would like another Wawa but its current location is very nice. The atmosphere of the area is nice, woody and quiet. When it snows it looks quite lovely and even thin and narrow roads get plowed quickly.

Hockessin is a small suburban village that holds middle and upperclass residents but 20 min away is wilmington which has theft violence murder schools in the whole state are getting worse along with heroin addiction on the rise

The little shops are cute but very pricey and the restaurants are ok but not the best. the customer service isn't very good

Great community. Clean, quiet and friendly. The only drawbacks- no decent chain grocery stores in the area. The only option is Acme. We could also use a bakery. Elementary schools (Cooke & North Star) are top notch and highly desirable.

About Wilmington
Wilmington, Delaware was first settled by the Swedish in 1638. Over time, the area has also been home to the Dutch, the British and the Quakers, a long diverse history that has left its mark on the surrounding area. Visit Fort Christina and experience what it was like to be one of the first colonists in Wilmington. The Delaware Art Museum, with a extensive collection of American art, celebrates the Brandywine School, a style of painting named for the nearby Brandywine Creek.
